The Lord foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. ~ Psalm 33:10-11
The fact of the matter is you were created to live forever; beyond this life. Plans of mankind change and evolve from one year to the next, but the Lord’s plans and purposes are firm and one of those plans is to have us with Him forever. I know we all have plans for our life here on earth, but have you ever thought about what your forever eternity will look like? I know where I will be spending eternity and as a follower of Jesus I also know that God has great plans for me down here on earth. I am a planner. I am not good at spontaneity and I love schedules. Saying this, there have been many times when my planned day has been interrupted and I have become frustrated. I have to remind myself often that my plans may not have been God’s, and so sometimes I need a divine interruption. God allows my plans to succeed as long as they don’t interrupt His plans for my life. Once my plans start to derail from His there is usually a disruption in my path. God sometimes allows us to derail for a while and then when we get to the dead end of our own plan, He gently guides us back. The loved one who is off living their life for themselves, if they are a follower of Jesus, may be allowed to hit rock bottom for God’s glory, purposes, and plans later. Isaiah 55:8 says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declared the Lord. Being mindful. Being prayerful and trusting God’s plans are best will bring you patience and peace instead of frustration and anxiety. What plans do you have today? Is there room for a divine interruption, or will you become frustrated? And where do you plan to spend your forever? God would love it to be with Him. ~ Amen
