Your Life

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.  Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? ~ Matthew 6:25

I feel anxious around payday; always hoping and praying there will be enough to cover all our bills and some of our wants.  And you know what? I don’t know why.  God has always been faithful in HIs provision for this family even though we are not nearly as faithful to Him.  Our family has never experienced a real need and I am very thankful for that as I know some have.  Yeah, maybe He met the need in a different way than I expected, but it was still met.  And I emphasize need because sometimes as humans, especially here in the United States, we get our needs and our wants mixed up and sometimes what we want God to provide for is really our want.  While God does want to give us the desires of our heart, that is not His first priority.  His first priority is to bring you back to Him.  Where do your worries come from?  Are you more concerned about your material well being than your spiritual well being?  Most people who listened to Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount were considered poor and Jesus still told them not to worry, but to trust.  To live one day at a time and trust Him.  Human nature is selfish and wants more, more, more, and here in 2025 God would want us to not only stop worrying about our needs, but stop chasing after material things.  We have become so obsessed with trying to keep up with the neighbors and their “toys” that we have compromised our spiritual growth.  Our worry, anxiety, and constant desire for more, or greed at its core, hinders our growth and our outreach to others.  For some of us, it may be debt outside of our control that has us stressed, but God cares for us more than anything else in this world and you can trust in His faithfulness to help you.  In the end, it’s a heart issue.  Where does your heart belong?  Trusting God, or worrying?  Lay your cares and worry at His feet, live one day at a time in obedience to Him, and trust.  May you feel His peace. ~ Amen

Seek Good

Seek good, not evil, that you may live.  Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you, just as you say he is. ~ Amos 5:!4 God never leaves us...
